Just In: Governor Fayose Speaks On Joining APC (See Full Details)

The governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, has actually eliminated his chances of signing up with the ruling All Progressives Congress (PDP).

Recall that Fayose recently threatened to leave his celebration, the Peoples Democratic Celebration (PDP), after his favored aspirant, Guv Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state, lost the party’s presidential ticket to former vice president Atiku Abubakar.

Governor Fayose, however, stated that he will not leave the PDP for the APC, advising the ruling party to bury the concept.

According to the Punch, he stated this while reacting to a statement by the Ekiti chairman of APC, Paul Omotoso, who said Fayose was not wanted in the party.

“APC my foot! I will never have anything to do with APC.

“For the party’s leaders to be saying that Fayose is coming to APC amounts to unnecessary dissipation of energy.

“I will never, ever, go to APC and will never ever have anything to do with the party,” he vowed.

The APC chairman had earlier advised Governor Fayose to look elsewhere for political sanctuary, should he jump out of the PDP.

He gave the advice in a statement on Tuesday, October 9, in Ado Ekiti.

“Fayose should not think of moving from PDP to APC until he clears himself of several criminal cases hanging on his neck,” Omotoso stated.

“We want to tell the world that the APC will not provide sanctuary for criminal suspects, political prostitutes and lepers.

“We will never admit such character to this party and we advise Fayose to play his ‘politics of destruction’ somewhere else.

“Fayose’s prosecution on the alleged poultry project fraud resumes on November 4, 2018.

“Fayose cannot turn Ekiti APC to a haven and sanctuary for criminal suspects. He should forget any plan to smear Ekiti APC with criminal records,” the APC chairman was quoted to have said.
