Dosu Joins Go Round As Goalkeeper Trainer

Former youth international, David Dosu – the elder brother of former Super Eagles goalie, Dosu Joseph, has joined Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Go Round FC as goalkeeper coach for the 2018/19 season, the club has announced.

Dosu previously worked for Lagos based First Bank FC in the Nigeria National League (NNL) before he joined the Omoku based team.

“It is true. I have signed for Go Round FC. In life, you must change places. I was somewhere else before I joined First Bank and now I have left First Bank to join Go Round. That is life,” Dosu was quoted in a media statement issued by the club.

“You know we played against them in the NNL two seasons ago and I saw good goalkeepers in the team. I know I can train the keepers here to their best.

“The management have not given me a target, just to train the goalkeepers, but I have my own target.”

“Though I have not worked in Rivers State, I have been here before with the likes of Imama Amapakabor, the late James Enuagwuna and Taribo West,” Dosu said.

David Dosu was a member of Nigeria’s team to the 1983 FIFA World Youth Championship in Mexico. The team failed to advance to the next round of the competition after placing third in their group behind Brazil and the Netherlands.

Dosu is expected to assume work with the team on October 23, 2018 as they kick start preparation for the new season.

Ngozi Elechi remains the head of the technical crew of Go Round FC with Wilfred Udube as chief coach. Abiye Iyalla is now assistant coach while Peter Abaje is video analyst.
