Chicago rapper and activist Vic Mensa returns to the scene with his latest offering, Hooligans, vic mensa hooligans ep download a follow-up to his 2017 album The Autobiography. The 8-track EP is led by a trio of singles: “Reverse” featuring G-Eazy, “Dark Things,” and “Rowdy” featuring fellow Chicago-native G Herbo. It also includes guest appearances from Mr. Hudson, Ty Dolla $ign, Charlie Wilson and more. Production is handled by Marshmello, Stefan Ponce, Keyon Christ, and Vic Mensa himself.
A few days prior to the projects’s release, Vic sat down with the Breakfast Clubto break down the EP’s concept. “That’s how we grew up. I’m from a place called Hyde Park and that’s just what it was,“ he said. “There was a couple energies on that project that just reminded me a lot of that. And in general, I wanted to make music that could touch on certain pillars of my experience and personality that could speak to them again.”
Hooligans arrives months after Vic Mensa’s controversial verse at the BET Hip Hop Awards cypher, where he dissed deceased rapper, XXXTentacion, an event he later addressed on “Empathy.” Previous songs like “Metaphysical” and “Dis Sum” with Valee did not make the project’s final cuts.
