Rapper Young Thug Reportedly Hands Himself Over to the Georgia Police

XXL is reporting that rapper Young Thug has handed himself over to the police in DeKalb County, Georgia after he was charged with eight felonies on September 6 stemming from his 2017 arrest in Georgia.

Recall that the rapper’s troubles started after he was pulled over by the police for having tinted windows, and a quick check of the vehicle showed he was carrying drugs and firearm. He was arrested on the spot. Later, he was hit with 8 felony charges for the incident which include possession and intent to distribute meth, weed, and hydrocodone., possession of amphetamine, Alprazolam, and codeine, and also for carrying a firearm.

Now XXL reports that jail documents they obtained show that Thug was booked at 2.30 p.m. on September 11 on five counts of violating the state’s controlled substance act. A warrant for his arrest had was issued on September 10.

It is unclear how this will pan out for the rapper, but it worthy to note that in the state of Georgia, possession of more than one ounce of marijuana carries a mandatory sentence of one year in jail and up to ten years in prison.
