A Germany-based man known as Murphy Idahosa has been banished from Edo state for disrespecting the Oba of Benin Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II on social media. Idahosa had allegedly shared a video on Facebook where he blamed the Oba for the high rate of trafficking of girls in the Benin Kingdom.
This comes months after Benin chief, Dr. Oguigo, was reportedly humiliated and labelled an enemy of the land for not paying homage to the Oba of Benin.
Facebook user, Chuks Mgborie-Chukwu, who shared the video on his timeline, said a curse was placed on the chief at the Oba of Benin Palace. On the day the decree was made, the chief was also ostracized.
