UNILAG ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Now, before we get to it, we want to mention that we are only going to tell you about the general requirements for admission. If you want to see specific requirements of your faculty/course, you can click here. The information provided by the university is for last year’s admission (the new requirements have not come out yet), but you can at least have an idea of what to expect.

If the general requirements are what you are looking for, then here they are:

  • If you want to get admitted into a full-time undergraduate programme, you can do so only through Direct Entry or Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
  • You need to have five O level credits (or their equivalents) in accordance with the Department of Interest’s requirements.
  • You need to score 200 or higher on your UTME and have the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board forward your details to UNILAG.
  • You will be required to sit through the University of Lagos’ Post-UTME and obtain at least the minimum score.
  • You must be at least 16 years old by 31st of October in the year of your admission if you want to get in.

The Admissions Office of UNILAG only handles full-time admissions into undergraduate programs. If you want to be admitted into other programmes, such as Distance Learning Institute, Postgraduate, Diploma, Foundation or evening programmes, you will have to contact these offices directly.

If you have a foreign certificate of education, you need to apply for verification of result. Once it is verified, you will need to forward the verified results to UNILAG Registrar’s office which can be found in the Senate Building. If you do not verify your results, or they turn out to be forged, your admission will be terminated.

Important:

UNILAG does not charge for admission, therefore, you should be wary of touts. Do not pay any shady individuals!
