Libya Lose Top Star Al-Jamal To Injury, Jet Into Sfax For Eagles

The Tuareg of Libya will be without defensive midfielder,Tarek Al-Jamal when they clash with the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations double header later this month.

The player was injured on club duty and has been replaced with Al-Ahly of Tripoli’s Mahmoud Walou for the two legged encounters.

Meanwhile, coach Adel Amrouche is expected to lead the Libyan national team into the Tunisian city of Sfax today to begin preparations for the game.

Libya have chosen the southeast of Tunis as their home for the return fixture of the double header following the civil war in their country and the match will likely hold at the 18,000-capacity Stade Taïeb Mhiri which hosted some of thegames of the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations when Tunisia hosted the competition.

Botswana referee,Joshua Bondo will be at the centre in Sfax for the return leg while three days eralier,CAF picked DR Congo arbiter,Jean-Jacques Ndala Ngambo for the game at the Akwa Ibom International stadium in Uyo.

Libya lead the group with four points and are followed by South Africa who are also on four points while Nigeria is third with three points.
