Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly threatened to join Manchester United this summer if Los Blancos fail to increase his pay.

The 33-year-old, who has been in superb form for the Galacticos wants to earn as much as his Barcelona arch rival, Lionel Messi and Paris Saint Germain star Neymar.

Despite starting the season on a poor note, the Portuguese star has scored 41 goals in all competitions this season.

Meanwhile, Spanish news outlet Don Balon, say the former Manchester United forward has informed his side of his intention to rejoin his former Premier League club if they fail to meet his demands.

The publication also claim the Europa League defending champions have already offered the five time ballon d’Or winner an incredible offer for him to return to Old Trafford this summer eight years after quitting the club.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils have struggled with form in front of goal, especially with their recent 1-0 defeat to relegation bound West Bromwich Albion on Sunday, April 15.

However, they are planning to beef up their squad ahead of next season, as they are also planning to compete with Manchester City in the process.

They have crashed out of all the competitions available except the FA Cup where they will battle Tottenham Hotspur for a place in the final of this year’s edition of the cup competition.

United were ousted by mid-table Sevilla in the Champions League round of 16 clash, and they will be hoping to add Ronaldo to their attack to complement the duo of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.

His arrival could also help Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial become better strikers as they improve at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils return to action tomorrow night against Bournemouth in the Premier League, while Real Madrid take on Athletic Bilbao in La Liga at the same time.

Ronaldo led Real to a double last season – winning the Champions League and the La Liga title – as he has won a total of four UEFA elite championship title four times.

He has also won both the Premier League and the Spanish League titles while playing for both clubs, and he could be in his way to winning his fifth Champions League title this May.
