2018 Women’s AFCON: Super Falcons Arrive In Cape Coast From Abidjan

Defending champions, the Super Falcons of Nigeria arrived in Cape Coast, Ghana on Wednesday for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Cup,

The Super Falcons flew an Emirates Airline flight from Abidjan, where they had camped for the past eight days at the Sol Beni Sports Centre, and arrived at the Ghanaian capital before making their trip to the Cape Coast.

A team of 21 players and 12 officials arrived in Cape Coast on Wednesday evening for the competition.

Chairman of the Nigeria Women Football League and member of the NFF Executive Committee, Aisha Falode will join the team on Friday.

The Super Falcons will face the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in their first game of the competition on Sunday at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Former champions, Equatorial Guinea and the Shepolopolo of Zambia are the other teams in the Group B.

Hosts, Ghana will face Algeria in the tournament’s opening ceremony on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The competition will run from November 17 to December 1.

The top three teams from the biennial competition will represent Africa at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
