Enyimba head coach, Usman Abdallah says his team is battle ready for Wednesday’s CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final, first leg clash against Morocco’s Raja Casablanca in Aba despite their hectic fixture schedule,
The People’s Elephant barely have enough time to rest following their second round victory against Rayon Sports of Rwanda due to their involvement in the Aiteo Federation Cup.
The Aba giants played their three games in the Aiteo Cup last week at the Gombe centre and only arrived Aba on Sunday to begin full preparations for the game against Raja.
“We played against Rayon Sports on Sunday. Then we left for Gombe on Monday and arrived Tuesday. Then we played three Aiteo Cup matches between Wednesday and Friday. On Saturday we left for Enugu and arrived Aba on Sunday. That was very tedious,” Abdallah told reporters ahead of the game.
“It is commendable that we still managed to top the group. I had to intelligently rotate the squad to get results in the Aiteo Cup because it is also our priority and preserve players for the Raja game.
“It wasnʼt easy but it is what we are paid to do and we have to give it our best.
“I donʼt enter any game without the intention of winning. To qualify for the final, we have to win well in Aba. We will do everything within our reach to do that,” Abdullah enthused.
