Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari says he is proud of the progress made so far by D’Tigress at the 2018 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Tenerife Spain reports
D’Tigress defeated Argentina 75-70 to qualify for the quarter-finals qualifiers of the tournament. They had earlier defeated Turkey 74-68 in their second game after their opening day loss to Australia.
It was D’Tigress’ second consecutive win at the tournament.
“Congratulations to our women basketball team, D’Tigress, who today won their second game in the ongoing FIBA Women’s World Cup. We are proud of you, and of what you have accomplished so far,” President Buhari tweeted via his handle, @MBuhari.
D’Tigress will face Greece later today (Tuesday) in the quarter-final qualifiers. They will face the USA in the quarter-finals on Friday should they beat Greece.
