The National Youth Service Corps (NTSC) has said that the online registration portal for the 2018 Batch ‘B’ mobilisation exercise will be opened on Tuesday, July 10.
Daily Trust reports that NYSC said the registration portal will be opened till July 16.
It calls on: “Nigerians who have graduated from universities and mono/polytechnics both at home and abroad to register for the mobilisation exercise between Tuesday, 10th July and 16th July, 2018.”
It said “prospective corps members should ensure strict compliance to the guidelines in order to ensure a seamless registration.”
Some of the guidelines include “having a functional email address and Nigerian telephone numbers with which to register. “Such e-mail address and phone numbers must be maintained throughout the service year.
“Locally-trained graduates are expected to use correct matriculation numbers to register while their foreign counter parts are to visits the website to upload documents which includes Travelling document, Secondary and higher institution certificate including transcripts.”
“Foreign-trained prospective Corps Members should NOTE that ONLY those that graduated from accredited institutions are qualified for mobilization. Any foreign-trained prospective Corps Member who is in doubt of the accreditation status of his/her institution should approach the Federal Ministry of Education for verification.”
“All foreign-trained prospective Corps Members who registered but were not called up for service in the last batch should log on to the NYSC portal to revalidate their registration. This category of persons need not pay N2,750.00 (Two thousand seven hundred and fifty naira) again.”
Concerning the passport, the NYSC states that prospective corps members should”
“Ensure your face (eyes, nose, ears, mouth and jaw) is fully shown without bending.
“Ensure the picture fills the frame and its centralized.
“Ensure the photo background is white or off-white with no shadow.
“On no account should prospective Corps Members register by PROXY. They should also remember the fingers used for their biometric capturing as this will be used for verification at the orientation camps. Those who cannot be verified with their biometric at the orientation camps will not be registered”
Meanwhile, no fewer than two thousand and fifty-seven (2,057) Batch A stream ll of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Nasarawa state passed out without receiving monthly allowances for the duration stay in service year.
Nigerian Tribune reports that Zainab Isah, the state NYSC coordinator, confirmed the development to newsmen in Lafia on Thursday, July 5, after conducting a low key passing out parade.
