Nigeria Football Federation made it double joy for players and officials of Super Falcons Wednesday when they paid the team two match bonuses and allowances soon after their 4-0 victory over Zambia’s Shepolopolo in the African Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana
The team was paid the bonus for the win over Zambia and that of the qualifier against Gambia in Bantu, as well as their camping allowances in Abidjan and in the Gambia. The home leg win over Gambia will be paid to the team in local currency on their return from AWCON tournament.
A breakdown showed that a total of $289,650 was doled to the team soon after the victory over Zambia on Wednesday. The 21 players got over $126,000 as bonuses, with each pocketing $6,000 from the two games. The players also shared $29,000 as allowances for Gambia match and Abidjan camp.
Our source in the Glass House also revealed that head coach Thomas Dennerby got about $15,000 as bonus and allowances while his four assistant coaches and five backroom staff received $99,900 as allowances and bonuses.

“Aside the bonus for the home game against Gambia in the qualifiers, I can confirm to you that we are not owing the Super Falcons. That will be paid in Naira when they come back from the tournament. I think they are motivated enough to go and retain the cup they won in Cameroon two years ago
“We are leaving no stone unturned in a bid to retain the, cup but also book our ticket to the world cup. Going to the world cup and doing very is our target and that informed our hiring a foreign coach for the Super Falcons,” our source divulged further
The Super Falcons will lock horns with Equatorial Guinea in their last Group B match on Saturday, hoping to earn a spot in the semi-finals.
